THE COACH
Our professional Goalie coach is Eric Cielenou, ex-Cameroon National Team, and French Ligue 1 standout. Coach Eric has participated in World Cup qualifying games for Cameroon as well as at the highest levels in Europe. Coach Eric holds a USSF National "C" license as well as an NSCAA Goalkeeper Institute license. Coach Eric is currently the Head Goalkeeper Coach for the New York State North Olympic Development Program and the assistant athletic director for the Lycée Français in NY City. His combined playing and coaching experiences make coach Eric the ideal coach candidate for our goalie camps.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Conventional soccer wisdom states that offense will win you games, but defense wins championships. A reliable and high defensive line is crucial, but having a trusted goalkeeper as the last line of defense is paramount. At Fox Soccer Academy, coaches focus on our goalkeepers' individual needs to help them minimize their weaknesses and improve their strengths. The GK program aims to help elite goalkeepers develop their skills ranging from diving abilities, positioning, and footwork.
